Video Viewing

Today I viewed two very different videos. This is my take on them.

1. Laura's "The Perils of a Working Mom"
http://lauraguardino.blogspot.com/
I learned, from 3 women who were probably paid by Pledge cleaning solution, that being a working mom is hard. Not only did I learn that but I also found out that they think you should only volunteer in your community if it allows you to be near your family. What happened to autonomy? Personal interests? Desire and passion to work for community? Also, the video taught me that only working moms are of European descent, based on their homes have a certain higher income level, and have a ton of time to put on a lot of make up. Working moms MUST look and fit the mold of stereotypical beauty! It's one of the perils! I just felt that the video and the women who produced it are very different from myself and how I approach the world. I would have bought into their viewpoints more had the video not be bombarded with subliminal advertising by Pledge.

2. Felicia's Fall Leaves
Felicia's video was a great way to relax after thinking about the women in the Pledge video. With the soothing sounds of a Vermont river, the beautiful fall leaves, and the nature sounds I enjoyed 'experiencing' a little bit of Vermont.

Ta ta for now.
